How you can help!

How Can I help this year
  1. We will have less meetings leading up to the event, but we will attempt to have several in the weeks just prior to October 24th.  (Exact information soon)

  2. Collection items will be simplified – Hygiene items as always, Children’s Coats and

New socks for all ages.

No other clothing collection this year.

  1. We will be taking requests for work clothing, adult coats, and work shoes from our guests to be fulfilled after the event as funds allow.

  2. Volunteers will need to attend one of the meetings prior to the event as we will need to implement a process of screening all volunteers for Covid 19 exposure.

(more information for volunteers to follow). All volunteers will wear masks and follow best practices.

  1. Gates will probably not open for our guests until after noon to allow the volunteers to use the morning hours to prepare.

  2. We will be informing guests to contact us by phone if they lack transportation or an ability to attend on October 24th so that critical needs can be met.

As in the previous eight years, this ecumenical effort relies solely on the financial support of our churches, community organizations and individuals, which determines how much assistance can be provided.  We need to raise between $30,000 and $40,000.  Please consider a budgeted contribution or special offering, and forward the funds to our treasurer, C.J. Thompson, at ONE DAY OF HOPE, P.O. Box 99, Manchester, TN 37349-0099 prior to September 15, 2020.

If you have any questions or if you need to contact the Board, please call me at 931-247-5791 or by email at raymarcrom@gmail.com.  Remember the date:  October 24th at Coffee County Fairgrounds.  Please prayerfully consider how God can use each of us to represent the love of Jesus Christ to the hurting and the lost.

May God bless you as we join hands in love!

Ray E. Marcrom, President of the Board
